Opened in 1969 by the Daughters of Charity as Seton Center, Inc. to meet the growing need of child care for working parents in the community. The center has been in continuous operation for over 30 years. Since 1996 the center has operated as Emmitsburg Early Learning Center continuing the mission of the Daughters of Charity as a non-profit organization to provide quality child care using a sliding fee scale.

The center's child development programs focus on developing the whole child. We work with the children to build their academic, emotional, language, physicial and social skills. A balance of indoor and outdoor activities are provided daily to help develop motor skills and promote creativity. Our sevicies are available to everyone without discrimination.
